Position Description
The Promotions Specialist administers and monitors national collection campaigns and various promotion projects as assigned by Assistant Director for Promotions; assumes all project tasks relevant to assigned campaigns and promotion projects, including but not limited to research, writing, editing and proofreading, preparing and tracking of budgets and schedules, and project management; and manages the Collection Office website and social media content. The Promotions Specialist supports the Bishops' Strategic Plan and demonstrates shared qualities of effectiveness in all work interactions.

Requirements:
Level of Education: Bachelor's degree in related field or combination of related work experience and education.

Major Field/Specialty: Communications, Marketing, English, Journalism, and fields related to fund raising and promotion.

Other Specialized Training (i.e. word processing, personal computer,
etc.): Project coordination and team management; development and monitoring of budgets and schedules. Leadership skills. Familiarity with Catholic teachings, the U.S. diocesan system and with Catholic fund raising/development initiatives. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access); familiarity with SharePoint Moss
2007 Basic understanding of publishing/public relations/marketing/fund-raising principles, techniques, and processes.
Understanding of Internet related applications; experience with content management systems Excellent communications skills: English (oral and written), Spanish desirable. Working knowledge of design and the graphic arts, digital, print and audiovisual production.

Type and Nature of Professional Experience (Minimum 5 years): Project management; experience with facilitation, developing and monitoring budgets and schedules. Demonstrated ability to work with many details, organize several projects simultaneously, be flexible, and meet deadlines and work within a project team. Proven writing and editorial skills. Creative thinking and negotiating ability. Hands-on production experience. Strong ability to work with others within a project management organizational structure.
