The Reasons for Mission
Is it possible to be a missionary church today? Is it possible to have passion to bring the Good News, in our Catholic tradition, to others? Or have we developed assumptions about salvation that actually take away the incentive to share our Catholic faith with others?
In The Reasons for Mission, Fr. DeSiano explores the why’s of missionary zeal today. Sensitive to ecumenical and interfaith realities, he lays out six reasons for mission—reasons which can inspire us today to be much more overt in reaching out to those without faith or those who have ceased practicing faith.
At a time when the numbers of adults entering the Church have declined, and millions now say they have “no” religious preference, what can we do to orient ourselves to touch the lives of seekers today?
