Partnership for Global Justice Award


Fr. Sean McDonagh, SCC, leading thinker and prolific writer in the field of Eco-Theology to receive the Partnership for Global Justice Award.

NEW YORK, NY - February 28, 2011 - Fr. Sean McDonagh, SCC will receive the Eighth Annual Partnership for Global Justice Award on Sunday, May 1, 2011. Fr. McDonagh will accept the award and deliver a keynote address. The luncheon and award ceremony will be followed by an orientation symposium in preparation for the United Nations Commission on Sustainable Development that will take place at the United Nations from May 2 – 14, 2011.

The luncheon, award ceremony and orientation, which are open to the public, will be held at the Church of St. Paul the Apostle at 60th St. and Ninth Avenue in New York City beginning at 1:00pm. Information regarding tickets for the award luncheon and /or orientation is available from the Partnership for Global Justice (www.partnershipforglobaljustice.com).

Part Two Orientation to the UN Commission on Sustainable Development
3:15 PM Overview and history of Sustainable Development focusing on climate change
Ann Braudis, MM, current co-chair of the NGO Committee on Sustainable Development
4:00 PM Panel to discuss current issues being presented at the upcoming commission

5:15 PM Closing

The Award Luncheon will be held at The Church of St. Paul the Apostle, 60th St. and 9th Ave. NYC (easily accessible by bus or subway).

Cost:
-$95 per person for entire program
-$60 luncheon/award/keynote only
-$60 orientation only
-$85 each, for three or more persons from the same organization
-$85 each for Members of the Partnership, RUN or ICON Members
partial scholarships are available

Participate in the UN Commission on Sustainability, May 1 to 13
Participants are invited to stay for one or more days of the Commission on Sustainable Development. If you plan on participating in the commission, please send your registration to the Partnership for Global Justice before April 15 so that your registration can be processed by the United Nations.
