(June 14, 2011)----Father Chet Artysiewicz was elected
president of Glenmary Home Missioners during the first week of the community's
15th General Chapter being held June 6-17 in Charleston, W.Va. Also elected to
Glenmary's executive council were Father Neil Pezzulo as first vice
president and Brother Jack Henn as second vice
president.
Glenmary priests, brothers, students and lay coworkers are currently participating in the every-four-year gathering. Following the Chapter of Elections held the first week, participants are now working----with the aid of an outside facilitator----to identify key issues facing Glenmary and set priorities for Glenmary to address over the next four years.
Glenmary's New Executive Council

Father Artysiewicz took his First Oath as a Glenmary missioner in 1969 and his Final Oath in 1972. He was ordained in 1973. In his years of home mission ministry, Father Artysiewicz has served as associate pastor of Glenmary's mission in Morehead, Ky., and as pastor of missions in Waynesboro, Ga.; West Union, Ohio; Greensboro, Ga.; Swainsboro, Ga.; Monticello, Ark.; and Idabel, Okla. He has also served the community as vocation counselor and director of the post-novitiate program.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Fairfield University in Fairfield, Conn., and a Master of Divinity degree from St. Louis University. In his leisure time, Father Artysiewicz enjoys music, walking and sports, especially baseball.

While in formation with Glenmary, Father Pezzulo worked in mission areas in Kentucky, North Carolina, West Virginia, Alabama, Arkansas and Georgia.
Since ordination, Father Pezzulo has ministered to Glenmary missions in Arkansas. He served as associate pastor of the missions in Crossett and Hamburg from 2000 to 2003 and has pastored missions in Waldron and Danville since 2003. In his spare time, he enjoys outdoor activities, especially skiing, hiking, camping and kayaking.

Thirteen of Brother Jack's 35 years in Glenmary have been dedicated to vocation and formation ministry. He also served as a parish brother in Sylvania, Ga., and as an evangelization minister in Sautee, Ga. He completed a Master of Pastoral Studies degree at Loyola University (Chicago) in 1994.
Before entering Glenmary in 1974, Brother Henn completed a bachelor's degree in accounting at Thomas More College in Crestview Hills, Ky., and pitched for the college baseball team. Brother Henn still enjoys playing and watching sports for relaxation.
Assignments for mission positions that will be affected by the elections will be announced in the weeks to come.
