USCMA member, Sr. Mary Whited, CPPS has passed away

Dear Michael and USCMA members   

It is with deep sadness that we share with you the news that Mary Whited, CPPS died this morning around 1:00 am. She died peacefully in her sleep.

Mary served in the presidency of the LCWR during 2006-2009. She was very much a part of both the Apostolic Visitation and the Doctrinal Assessment. Most recently she has been serving as a member of the LCWR Contemporary Religious Life Committee. Many of you may have seen Mary at the 2011 national assembly. She made it a priority in her last days to gather with her LCWR sisters!

Mary's wisdom and quiet, gentle presence among us is a loss. Her ability to laugh at some of the foolishness that surrounded us at times is a gift that will linger in our memories of her. We send our deepest sympathy and promise of prayers to her congregational leaders, to all of the sisters with whom she shared life, to her friends and to her family. Mary is now with the God to whom she gave her life. We offer prayers of praise and thanksgiving that the LCWR was blessed to share in that life.

Arrangements are:         September 2, 2010, 4:00 PM: Wake  - 7:00 PM:  Prayer Service

                                        September 3, 2010, 11:00 AM: Funeral

All services will be held at the at the CPPS chapel in O'Fallon, Missouri.
