Mission Promotion Coordinator

Western Region, Seattle

The Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers, also known as the Catholic Foreign Mission Society of America, seek a dynamic and organized person with a passion for mission and global solidarity to serve as its Mission Promotion Coordinator out of its Seattle Office.

The Mission Promotion Coordinator coordinates Maryknoll’s mission education and promotion efforts primarily in the Northwest out of our Seattle Mission Office.  As a member of the Western Region Team the Coordinator will report directly to the Associate Regional Director located in Seattle.   This is a full time position with benefits.

The Mission Promotion Coordinator’s responsibilities include:

1. obtaining, coordinating and assisting with Maryknoll’s mission appeals and other fundraising activities,
2. obtaining, coordinating and participating in mission education opportunities, such as workshops, presentations, classes, retreats, exhibits at conferences, etc.,
3. cultivating positive relationships and opportunities for collaboration with the local church concerning mission, and
4. managing and providing administrative support for the Seattle Mission Office, including some clerical and bookkeeping functions

Qualifications include good standing with the Roman Catholic Church, familiarity with the local diocesan churches in the region, familiarity with contemporary Catholic theology.  A Bachelor of Arts or Science degree in related field or equivalent is required.  Good organizational and interpersonal communication skills are necessary as well as experience with computers, the Internet and Microsoft Office Suite.   Overseas, mission, multicultural or equivalent experience is preferred.   Some travel, evening and weekend work is required.   Fluency in written and spoken Spanish would be useful.

There is the opportunity and hope that the Mission Promotion Coordinator will advance to the Mission Promoter position within several years.
